This class is designed to equip students with the skills needed as they become young adults.

Topics include:

• Map skills
• Career search
• Job application and interview
• Housing
• Budgeting
• Banking (checking, saving and loans)
• Child care and development
• Relationships
• Peer pressure
• Purchasing an automobile
• Dealing with grief
• Sewing
• Foods and Nutrition

Basic Supplies

• 1-2 pocket folder
• Notebook paper
• Pencils
• 1 pkg colored copy paper (yellow, blue or green)

Other supplies will be need for various projects. I will try to keep supplies to a minimum and encourage students to shop garage sales and thrift shops to purchase items for our “flour sack baby” unit.

Grades:

Grades will be determined on a total point system. Each assignment will be given an assigned number of points which can be earned. The total points possible will be divided by total points earned. Unless due to an absence I will only take work 1 day late for 60% of the grade earned.
