The Oklahoma's Promise (OHLAP) program offers Oklahoma high school students the opportunity to attend Oklahoma Colleges, Universities, and Technology Centers, and receive $15,000 a year for tuition. To qualify, students must apply to the state by the end of their sophomore year, complete the required course work, and have a family income less than $50,000/yr when they apply.


Students planning to attend college need to earn these credits in order to qualify for Oklahoma's Promise. Students that are not eligible for Oklahoma's Promise should still complete the following course work in order to meet college admission and scholarship requirements.

Geometry comes between Algebra I and Algebra II. In geometry students will practice using mathematical truths about shapes to create and solve simple algebraic problems. By having geometry in-between Algebra I and Algebra II students get an extra year to practice basic algebra before adding new algebra skills in Algebra II. Course Description

Jazz Band is a select group of students that audition and are invited to be a part of one of the exciting groups in the Bridge Creek schools. There are positions in trumpet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trombone, guitar, bass guitar, and drum set. The students must be able to read music. The director will select players with exceptional ability. The band prepares music to perform at all home basketball games. The jazz band also performs at different fundraisers and contests. The director will announce the auditions in April of the previous year with music and criteria for the audition. Auditions are in May.

Varsity Band is made up of students that have learned to play a musical instrument at least 2 years. The band includes flutes, clarinets, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet, French horn, Trombone, Baritone, tuba, and percussion. Other instruments not on this list can be included. The band performs at all football games, and requires marching for everyone. There are extra rehearsals after school, marching starts before school begins in August. After football season the band becomes a concert band, playing inside on concert band music. Other options for band students are honor band auditions, and solo and ensemble contests.
