Policies and Procedures: 1. Follow the “Golden Rule” – treat others as you would like to be treated. This means you will respect the property, space and ideas of others. 2. Do not disrupt the learning process / opportunity of others. 3. Rudeness of any type is not tolerated. 4. Come to class prepared. 5. Practice the common sense procedures you were taught in elementary school. 6. No assignments on spiral notebook paper. 7. Be responsible; accept your consequences – action, not excuses. 8. Be on time and in your assigned seat. (see Handbook for Tardy / Absent policies 9. All students should remain in their seats until I dismiss the class. The bell does not dismiss you, I do. 10. No personal grooming. 11. Work for any class other than mine will not be done unless approved by me. Outside work will be confiscated if this policy is violated.

Discipline Procedures:

    1. Teacher – student conference and possible parent / guardian contact.
    2. Teacher assigned detention and parent / guardian contact.
    3. Office referral.

Required Supplies:

    1. Blue or black ink pens.

    3. 1”-2” notebook (3 ring binder). All assignments will go in the notebook, in order.
    4. Map pencils.
    5. Loose leaf notebook paper.

Grading System: I use a total points scoring method, so one assignment will not “make or break” the student’s grade for the semester.

    1. Daily work = 40%
    2. Tests = 40%
    3. 9 Weeks test = 20% of cumulative avg. (per Handbook policy; unless exempt)
Cheating of any type is not tolerated. If a student is caught cheating they will receive a zero for that assignment or test as well as being subject to disciplinary action. See handbook.

I will accept late assignments as long as it does not become a habit. I will also drop the one low daily grade per nine weeks. Long-term projects may not be turned in late, except in emergency situations. See Handbook for absent work make-up policies. Please feel free to contact me at any time during the year if you have questions or concerns. You may reach me through the office at 387-3981. Thank you for reviewing this outline. I appreciate you taking the time to make sure your child succeeds. I look forward to meeting each of you and working together throughout the year.

Sincerely, Adam Bass
