ALGEBRA I

Supply List

For your Algebra I class there are several items that you will need for the year.

1 2” 3 ring binder

1 set dividers ( you will only use 4)

notebook paper

1 spiral bound notebook (70 page should be fine)

1 tablet of graph paper will be needed near the end of the 1st 9 weeks.

1 *box of Kleenex

1 *ream of computer paper (We will be doing some of our work from a computer generated program that requires a lot of printing)

1 Calculator – we recommend the Casio fx-300. It is easy to use and will handle all the Math classes through Alg II. However, You will not be allowed to use one all the time!

Lots of pencils and erasers.

Only pencils may be used in this class; any work turned in, done in ink, will not be recorded.

*If you will turn in the computer paper and kleenex by the end of the first full school week, I will add 8 points to your lowest test grade.

PROJECT:    Design a Building

In this project you will have your choice from three buildings to design. You will design only ONE of the three.

The project is worth two test grades. Details in the drawing are important. Extra points will be given for practical and necessary items that are included in addition to the ones that are listed. All of the listed items must be included. All drawings must be drawn to a scale that is stated on the drawing. All lines must be neatly drawn. The maximum size of paper for the finished drawing can be no larger than 14 x 14.

Requirements for each are as follows:

• School- classrooms for 400 students, restrooms, cafeteria, library, offices, janitorial areas, and teacher workroom.
• Mall- Three major department stores, minimum of 20 minor stores, food court, restrooms, Mall office, information area, and janitorial area.
• House- Minimum of three bedrooms and 1 ½ baths, 2400 square feet. Kitchen must show the placement of all appliances. If you choose, you may do three different houses. Total of the three will count as your one project grade.
